Branches of DIET Lakhimpur

  1. PSTE (Pre-service Teacher Education)
    Strength: 1 Sr. Lecturer and 8 Subject-wise Lecturers.
    Function: Imparts training to newly admitted candidates who will become future teachers.

  2. WE (Work Experience)
    Strength: 1 Sr. Lecturer, 1 Lecturer, and 1 Work Education Teacher.
    Function:

    • Identifies locally relevant work experience areas.

    • Assists educational authorities and elementary schools.

    • Organizes campus development activities, including cleanliness, playgrounds, and gardens.

  3. DRU (District Resource Unit)
    Strength: 1 Sr. Lecturer and 4 Lecturers.
    Function:

    • Assists in planning and coordinating training programs for AE/NFE and personnel across the district.

    • Provides support for programs organized outside DIET.

  4. IFIC (In-Service Programmes, Field Interaction & Innovative Co-ordination)
    Strength: 1 Sr. Lecturer and 1 Lecturer.
    Function:

    • Identifies training needs of teachers and prepares plans.

    • Prepares the annual program calendar for DIET and assists in the preparation of external in-service programs.

  5. CMDE (Curriculum Materials Development & Evaluation)
    Strength: 1 Sr. Lecturer and 1 Lecturer.
    Function:

    • Adapts and develops curriculum materials that suit local needs for elementary education and teacher training.

  6. ET (Educational Technology)
    Strength: 1 Sr. Lecturer and 1 Lecturer.
    Function:

    • Develops low-cost, effective teaching aids (charts, models, audio tapes, etc.) in collaboration with DIET staff and external resource persons.

  7. PM (Planning and Management)
    Strength: 1 Sr. Lecturer and 1 Lecturer.
    Function:

    • Maintains data for planning and monitoring progress toward Universal Primary Education (UPE), Universal Elementary Education (UEE), and National Literacy Mission (NLM) goals.
